Liv had a quick health clinic checkup today, and is bobbing below the 50th percentile in weight at 13.9 lb / 6.4 kilos. It's fair to say it took Gemma a little longer to get to this level. Chubby cheeks make for massive smiles, which are erupting all over the place. Sometimes the rare-enough whines are merely a call for attention - once Liv locks eyes it's all cooing and sweetness. Biggest grins and eye tracking is reserved for the big sister.

Gemma's been the recipient of new nighttime serenades with a new piece of home musical gear. We're moving from Wheels on the Bus to some emo-Beck ballads. Kathy Brown didn't light up at the idea, formulating the guitar = clutter equation, but Gemma didn't seem to mind a quick stop at a local guitar store in the way home from swimming on the weekend, so we'll be hummin' and strummin'.
